Sarah Raven, writer, broadcaster and teacher is an expert on creating beautiful and productive gardens.
She is one of the best and most original of the new generation of garden writers. Her first book, The Cutting Garden (1996) won the Garden Writers' Guild Award for Best Specialist Gardening Book. The Cutting Garden and Grow your Own Cut Flowers (2002) teach how to design and maintain cutting gardens that will produce buckets of home-grown cut flowers, while the Bold & Brilliant Garden (1999) offers a new approach to planning and planting a garden for sumptuous colour and scent from spring through to autumn. Her last book The Great Vegetable Plot is a modern and inspirational guide to growing vegetables and was winner of the Garden Writers Guild Practical Book of the Year 2006. Sarah’s latest book, Sarah Raven’s Garden Cookbook (June 2007), is published by Bloomsbury.
Sarah also has a mail order company specialising on beautiful and unusual things for the garden and kitchen.
She makes regular appearances on Gardener's World both from Berryfields and from her own garden at Perch Hill Farm, Brightling, East Sussex from which she runs her very successful Garden and Cookery School.
